RESERVOIR SCREENING:

Every field's development plan should be reviewed on a regular basis. A technical review of your reservoir at its current stage of life cycle will identify opportunities and help avoid mistakes. We can tailor the evaluation towards a specific need of the client, or follow our systematic review. Find out if your reservoir is a candidate for EOR, CCUS, or P&A.

CHEMICAL EOR FORMULATION DESIGN:

Every reservoir is unique. Surtek specializes the tailoring to a formulation specific to your reservoir. A 3-stage process identifies compatible chemicals in (1) fluid-fluid study: alkali, surfactant, polymer, other. (2) mechanistic corefloods size the polymer and characterize the relative permeability of the system, and (3) oil recovery corefloods define the economics of a chemical flood.

COREFLOODING:

Surtek can conduct coreflooding on a wide range of reservoir types (high temperature, high pressure, live corefloods, etc.)

MINIMUM MISCIBLE PRESSURE:

Miscible gas EOR technologies require minimum miscible pressure (MMP) to be lower than current reservoir pressure. Slim tube determination is the key to designing any miscible gas EOR or CCUS projects. Common gas agents include CO2 and hydrocarbon gas.

EOR PARAMETER CALIBRATION FOR NUMERICAL SIMULATION:

Equation of state tuning for gas EOR projects, and chemical property tuning for chemical EOR are the most complicated part of modeling EOR technologies. These technologies are calibrated by recreating laboratory studies, and upscale to field models.

CONSULTING:

Surtek can provide consulting service on a contract day rate. Technical consulting capabilities include chemical EOR, Gas EOR, CCUS, classical reservoir engineering, pressure transient analysis, numerical modeling field.
